FRAME BRIEF CONCEPT CRIT

In today's concept crit we presented our ideas to a small group in order to narrow down our concepts to the one we will take further. I found this process quite helpful, as my idea of my project changed after the crit and have decided to go with a alternate idea.

Best Before Idea

The concept behind this idea is that the exhibition only runs for 2 months at a time and when it that's over its past its best before date. I was going to photograph a piece of paper with "your work here" wrapped up like meat with a sell by date sticker on. The sticker can go on each frame each month with a sell by date.

Lucky 7

The concept behind the lucky 7 is gambling and taking a chance at the competition. Many students love to have a little gamble so why not fancy their chances at showcasing there work as the odds are pretty good.

The spinner will have Lots of "yous" which shows the chances of being successful are high.

The Wall of Frame

The idea behind the wall of frame is that the exhibition space is a place for the worthy winners. You will have your 5 minutes of fame essentially. I plan to Laser cut out the wall and replace some of the bricks with laser cut mirrors. So when people are looking at the poster they already feel part of the wall.

Feedback

Wall of frame is the one! I like the idea of using wood and mirror, something different to print.
Nice visuals, well thought out printing techniques it will be a lot of work but if you do it well and execute it professionally it will have a high impact.

I like the play on words, I like the use of different printing processes. The range of ideas are playful and different to the other serious concepts in the crit.

Perfect design where the whole space is a brick wall

Mixed media will draw more attention

From the cirt I have decided to go with the hall of frame, my peers decided this would be the most eye catching and interesting concept, and is also a nice play on words. The poster will also be different to your average printed poster which will hopefully catch the viewers eye. Now I need to digitally produce it and get to the laser cutter before the time runs out.
