TYPE & GRID WORKSHOP 2

In todays session we have been looking at different ways of splitting it up pages. We looked at the Van de Graaff system, We starter by splitting the page up diagonally then joining the bottom corners to the top middle.
Next we worked out the content boxes by drawing in
the bow tie like section at the top, once this was done we drew
the content boxes by extending it out to the correct lines.
From here we split the content boxes up into sections using the rulers.
From here we can design on a perfectly proportioned page.

How to make a gird inside a box :
To make a grid inside a box, select the box then go to utilities > scripts. You can then go to applications > apple scripts and choose make grid. This will allow you to create a grid inside a box ..

You can also apply this to rulers by choosing 'add guides' in the same apple scripts folder :

This allows you to add guides really quickly to your DPS.

Task

Create a double page spread, using the techniques explored in the past couple of weeks.
Consider cannons, gutters, margins, headings etc...

2 Columns?
Unsure if this reads right, may need to lower bottom text box

Are grids just for aesthetics or are there absolutes that need to be followed.?
