Web Design - History of Scamps

We were asked to create some mock up scamps for our possible History of Site.I started by looking at what possible links and content I could include. I decided against a landing page as this is just another barrier to the content. I wanted to look at a brief history, different events from past and present, a music page with top albums, tunes and sample music, I also wanted to concentrate on some of the key figures in the reggae movement.

I may of included too much content but I can always change it if it looks too crowded.

Crit Feedback

Strengths

Looks easy to navigate, homepage looks simple to use.

The layout is simple and organised.

Prefer the initial design best.

Hand drawn would look good but probably very technically complicated

Maybe just have hand drawn header or something small.

Good variation of scamps

Good knowledge of page plan

Very interactive and relevant to the topic

Areas for Improvement

Thought info how you'd make it, ire frames/dimensions etc

Reggae Tree. The small images of the legends could be spinning vinyls

Who is it aimed at? Current fans? If so maybe you don't need the history, maybe just focus on the current artists and up and coming shows and artists.

Definitely have the music on another link or at least make it easy for the user to stop the music

Add colour and imagery.

Considerations

The designs which are most interesting are the ones which would work less successfully, they need to be more structures, its good as there is hierarchy when deciding what to click on but maybe more detailed scamps would explain better what you are trying to achieve

The Designs do match the theme, but colour would massively improve the visual Impact.

Hand drawn aesthetic appeal with a bit of digital touch up - appeal to the right audience.

Other Information - maybe also include links to the websites you can buy gig tickets from.

The more creative responses represent the theme more visually
