KEY INFO
- 3mm Bleed - Allowing room for error when trimming the document down to its desired size.
- Slug - This are is used for any outside information such as print registration marks and the CMYK colour swatches.
- Facing Pages - Do the pages face each other in a book format?
- Gutter - Space between columns
- Page Pallet - This shows you all the pages in your document giving you the the ability to add and remove pages.
Set Up for a facing page spread with 4 pages
- TYPE - Fill with Place Holder text - This will insert sample text to give you an idea of what the document will look like with text.
- When working with text, if there is too much text for the frame a red cross will come up this is called the Overflow Indicator, this gives you the option of creating another linked frame that the text will flow into.
- 300 DPI
- In CMYK or Greyscale when designing for Print.

- Work at Actual Size - If you enlarge images you will lose resolution.

- Create an image box at the desired size
- To insert an image you click file then place.
- If you copy and paste art work straight from Illustrator you wont have to worry about linking them and will still retain the editable qualities of the original Vector artwork.
When using images in INDESIGN the quality of the images will look terrible on screen, but this wont effect the quality when printing as INDESIGN finds the link to the image. So when taking the document to print you should create a folder with all the desired images in. Also save the INDESIGN file in this folder.
